Joan Buquet

President

Joan BuquetJoan Buquet is the Cluster Sales Manager for Residence Inn by Marriott Northwest Austin Arboretum, Courtyard by Marriott Northwest Austin Arboretum, and Hyatt Summerfield Suites Northwest Arboretum for White Lodging Services, Inc. She is also involved with Meeting Planner International, and has been involved with the Austin Business Travel Association, the National Tour Association, and the Texas State Human Resources Association. She has served on the SGMP board as Vice President, Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Member of TSAE, and has held a membership with the Austin Hotel and Lodging Association. Additional experience in the hotel industry includes Marriott brands, Holiday Inn brands, Prime Hospitality and La Quinta Inn & Suites. Her positions have included Area Sales Manager for two hotels, Area Sales Manager for ten hotels, Director of Sales and Marketing, Senior Sales Manager, and General Manager of full service hotels. Joan’s experience also includes extensive corporate meeting and event planning, and work with American Express. In her personal life, Joan enjoys traveling, walking, and dancing- she has competed all over the country and holds a World Championship.

Denise Redden

Treasurer

Denise ReddenDenise Redden has been in the hotel industry for over 15 years and is currently a Freelance Event Planner. She has worked for the Sheraton Austin and Executive Meeting Center, Crowne Plaza Austin, and Hilton Garden Inn Austin Downtown. She has Bachelor of Hotel and Restaurant Management and worked for an International hotel chain in the Philippines for over five years as a Marketing Manager. Since moving to the United States in 1997, she has attained a second Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from the Austin Graduate School of Theology while continuing to build her knowledge and expertise in the hotel industry. Over the last decade Denise has pursued excellence in hotel sales with a focus in the SMERFE market and has served as the Treasurer for the Austin Hospitality Association for the last five years. She is especially committed to professional and personalized service and has a unique talent for working with detail oriented people and groups. She is married and has two beautiful children, Jonathan (6) and Elena (2).

Miriam Moorman

Speaker/Topic Coordinator

Miriam MoormanMiriam Moorman is currently serving Radiant Properties, LLC as General Manager and Director of Sales and Marketing for their Austin property, Days Inn Crossroads, and as marketing consultant for the company's Dallas area hotel. She is also currently an elected Director on the board of the Days Inn Texas Regional Marketing Alliance. She holds a Master's Degree in Marketing and Management from the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin. In addition to AHA, she is also involved with AH&LA, HSMAI, and TSAE. Additional experience in the hotel industry includes various Assistant General Manager positions with Renaissance and Embassy Suites, where she also participated in a new-build project and as Casino Supervisor with Carnival Cruise Lines. Miriam's greater travel industry experience includes opening two successful travel agency startups as Sales and Marketing Director, earning her sales teams both city and national recognition for performance. Earlier jobs include Southwest Airlines and food and beverage experience. In her personal life, Miriam enjoys spending time with her two sons, Mitchell and Mason, and one very energetic dog, Max. Miriam and her family enjoy going out to dinner, the movies, and sporting events and traveling, especially to beaches or amusement parks.

Amber Lamb

Membership Coordination

Amber LambAmber Lamb has been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years and is currently an Association Sales Manager with the Crowne Plaza Austin Central. She got her start with Brinker International in Regional Training and Restaurant Management. At that time she began her hotel career with AmeriSuites and then Hyatt Place. Amber is a member of Meeting Professionals International, Texas Society of Association Executives, and Austin Guest Service and Concierge Association, in addition to being a board member for the Austin Hospitality Association. On a personal note, Amber is happily married to her soul mate, Richard, has a son, Joshua, who is a graduate student at the University of Texas (Hook 'Em) and shares her home with her 4 "babies" LilyRose, Luna, Scooter and Bartholomew. Her hobbies include skydiving, riding her Harley and any outdoor activity that raises her heart rate!

Molly Lintz

Secretary/Communications Coordinator

Molly LintzCurrently a Sales Manager at the AT&T Conference Center at the University of Texas at Austin, Molly was previously with the Austin Marriott South cluster. Molly received her Hospitality and Tourism Management degree from Purdue University with an emphasis in International Relations. She was fortunate to have gained experience at the renowned Five Star/Five Diamond Jinling Hotel in Nanjing, China. Growing up performing both on stage and in choral ensembles, her love of music enticed her involvement with the Purdue Musical Organizations. She also enjoys serving her community and served on the state board for Key Club International – a part of the Kiwanis family. Participation in these organizations resulted in performances and travel throughout the entire United States, Australia and Europe. In her free time now, Molly enjoys studying American Sign Language and has often come to the rescue of clients, guests and even complete strangers. She is also a part of Professional Convention Management Association. Molly is glad to be a part of the Austin Hospitality Association knowing the future of the industry is very bright.

Neil Goldman

Venue Coordinator

Neil GoldmanNeil Goldman is the owner of Austin Hospitality. Having worked throughout the hotel industry for nearly seven years, he parlayed those skills and experiences into a regionally recognized hotel solution. Neil has spent time working in hotel sales, F&B, operations and accounting for both Marriott and Four Seasons. During his free time, he can be found around Town Lake, playing golf or at a live music venue. As a member of AHA, Neil serves the roll of selecting locations for industry gatherings. AHA serves a very important roll in our hotel community and Neil looks forward to the future growth of AHA and the hotel climate in Austin.
